SawSet User Agreement
Effective date: August 4, 2026
SawSet is a chainsaw chain maintenance tool. By using SawSet, you agree to use it responsibly and to follow applicable equipment instructions, safety practices, and Apple terms.
Product Provided and Non-Goals
SawSet helps you identify chain specs, view file diameter/cutter angle/raker depth guidance, follow a filing checklist, save service cards, attach optional photos, and optionally request an AI-generated wear note for a saved service card.
SawSet is not a replacement for chainsaw manufacturer instructions, professional maintenance, safety training, inspection by a qualified technician, or your own judgment when operating or maintaining power tools.
Eligibility and Responsible Use
Use SawSet only if you can safely perform chainsaw maintenance and comply with the instructions for your equipment. Do not use SawSet while operating a chainsaw or in conditions where looking at a mobile device would be unsafe.
You are responsible for confirming that the chain, bar, saw, file, gauge, and work conditions are appropriate before filing or using the saw.
User Content and Local Data
You control the service card names, checklist progress, photos, and pinned AI wear notes you create in SawSet. The reviewed app stores this content locally on your device and does not provide account backup or cloud sync.
The reviewed UI does not provide per-record deletion. If you delete app data, replace an App-local photo, or uninstall SawSet, affected local records and photos may not be recoverable. Copies explicitly exported to Apple Photos are separately controlled in Photos.
In-App Purchases
SawSet may offer consumable credits through Apple In-App Purchase. Credits can unlock premium brand spec libraries and pay for successful Explain Chain Wear generations. Prices, availability, taxes, and payment handling are managed by Apple.
Consumable credits are not restored through a Restore Purchases flow. One credit is deducted when an Explain Chain Wear response successfully returns, even if you later edit or dismiss the returned draft without pinning it. A request that fails before a response returns does not deduct a credit in the reviewed behavior.
Apple Terms
Your use of Apple services, App Store purchasing, and device permissions is also governed by Apple's applicable terms and policies.
Availability and Changes
SawSet may change, remove, or update features, bundled spec libraries, credit behavior, or AI behavior over time. Network-dependent features, including purchases and Explain Chain Wear, may be unavailable due to connectivity, Apple service availability, or relay availability.
Intellectual Property
SawSet, its interface, bundled artwork, and app content are provided for use with the app. You may not copy, reverse engineer, redistribute, or misuse SawSet except where applicable law permits.
Product-Specific Disclaimers and Liability Boundaries
SawSet's chain-spec lookup is based on bundled app data and should be checked against the chain and equipment you are maintaining. The app does not certify that a chain is safe, sharp, correctly tensioned, properly installed, or fit for use.
Explain Chain Wear is an optional advisory feature. It compares service-card context and returns an editable note. It does not inspect the physical chain, does not replace professional advice, and does not override the deterministic spec values shown by SawSet.
When you choose Explain Chain Wear, the app sends the service-card context described in the Privacy Policy to a remote relay. The reviewed client does not identify that relay's operator, downstream model provider, or server-side retention/deletion policy. Do not submit sensitive personal, financial, account, or emergency information through service-card text used with this optional feature.
Always wear appropriate protective equipment and follow the chainsaw manufacturer's instructions. Stop using the chain or saw if anything appears damaged, uncertain, or unsafe.
Termination, Consumer Rights, Changes, and Contact
You may stop using SawSet at any time. We may update this agreement when SawSet changes. Nothing in this agreement limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
